Connect Parent Group
Connect is a 10-week evidence based program, that promotes social, emotional and behavioural adjustment and attachment security in children and youth between the ages of 8 and 18 years of age.
Parents meet in small groups with two clinical counsellors and trained facilitators, for 1.5 hours each week. Touchstone facilitators ensure a caring climate for participants to feel supported.
Each session provides parents with a new perspective on parent-teen relationships and adolescent development. Parents watch role-plays, do exercises and discuss new ways of responding to challenging behaviour and problems. Research shows that parents report feeling less stressed and more effective in parenting; they see fewer behaviour problems and better social functioning in their teen.
