Michael McCoy, Director

michael1Now the retired Executive Director of Touchstone Family Association, Michael McCoy spent five decades working in the non-profit sector. His work includes the design and implementation of a number of community based family services programs for children, youth and families. Under his leadership, Touchstone - the organization he led for 32 years - has been recognized with a number of awards. This includes exceptional accreditation reviews with results that only 2% of international agencies have accomplished.

Michael was honoured with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002, recognizing his over forty years of dedication to children, youth and families. In 2014 Michael was awarded BC Community Achievement Award for his commitment to innovative ideas developing programs that have served as a catalyst for positive change for all ages and cultures in the community of Richmond. In addition, in 2015, Michael was the first recipient of the Community Social Services Employers Association Legend Award. The award is presented to an individual demonstrating a sustained level of high performance, served as a mentor and an inspiration to colleagues and has made extraordinary contributions to the community and the sector.

In addition to serving on the Board of Touchstone and the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, in his free time, Michael also enjoys reading and travelling.
